Competition rules recorder ensembles and orchestras

This competition is above all musical, we would however encourage participants to think about their dress and how they look on stage.

The competition is open to recorder players of all nationalities. There is no age limit.

The ensembles will be divided in to 3 categories to which the person in charge of the group will refer for their inscription.

Category A : This is for groups who are only taught together and receive no individual tuition: cultural centers, associations, private or public organisations from trios to orchestras.

The programme chosen by the group, must last between 5 and 10 minutes, what ever the size of the group.

The 5 groups in the final can present the same programme as the semi-final.

Category B

This is for groups whose members have weekly individual tuition : music schools, asociations etc. from trio to orchestras.

Groups are free to choose their own programme.

Teachers are not permitted to play with their groups. 

Beginner level : programme of 5 minutes

Intermediate level : programme of 10 minutes

Advanced level : programme of 15 minutes

Category C :  Same details for sub categories as mentionned above.

This is for groups who are completing specialised studies, or in master classes, teachers : a programme of 20 minutes, including a compulsory contemporary work. Trio to orchestras.

A programme of 20 minute which must contain a contemporary piece (XXe et XXe siècle)

Please have 4 copies of the scores ready for the jurists. photocopies will not be accepted.

The jury has a right not to distribute all the prizes. The President has a casting vote and the jury's decision is final.
